Return to your watercolor practice and enjoy creating with fellow artists. Projects include tropical leaves, palm trees, bamboo, roses, black-and-white studies, quick paintings, desserts, landscapes featuring the sun or moon, abstract art, and a final composite project. Prerequisite: Beginning Watercolor.

Explore embroidery techniques while building confidence with texture, line, and composition. Create a personalized stitch reference book, then apply your skills to a hand-stitched portrait inspired by a favorite photo. Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike. Would you like to create handmade quilted hearts to participate in this project? IFAQH is all about the finder, makers of the hearts always remain anonymous. The original heart is in the photo and used as inspiration for the IFAQH hearts. Hearts are made of fabric, generally the size of your palm, and can be any shape of heart you choose. Most have a layer of batting or fiberfill and we can embellish with buttons, sequins, ribbon, etc. Come have fun with your creative process! All materials provided and no skills needed! This session will take place on October 6.

Spend time looking at, discussing, and making art at the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art. Each session will focus on a different artwork, artist, theme, or creative technique as participants explore the Museum’s collection through close looking, conversation, and hands-on art-making.
