Explore the time-honored art of relief printmaking in this two-day workshop at the South Bend Museum of Art. Guided by an experienced instructor, students will learn traditional printmaking techniques using soft-cut linoleum as they design, carve, ink, and print their own original works on a professional printing press. The workshop also includes a guided tour of the Museum' permanent collection, where participants will discover the rich history and artistic significance of printmaking through works of art on view. This class is free of charge due to a generous scholarship from the community foundation of St. Joseph County.

Discover the art of ceramic handbuilding in this new two-day workshop at the South Bend Museum of Art. Students will explore fundamental handbuilding techniques while creating a ceramic piece from one of several instructor-guided designs. Through step-by-step instruction, participants will develop skills in shaping, constructing, and finishing clay by hand. Whether you're trying ceramics for the first time or looking to refine your skills, you'll leave with a finished project and a strong foundation in this timeless art form. This class is free of charge due to a generous scholarship from the community foundation of St. Joseph County.

Perfect for those who have never knitted or haven’t picked up needles in years. Learn to knit, purl, read patterns, and master basic knitting skills while creating a dishcloth. Bring to the first class: #7 knitting needles (straight or circular) and one skein of solid-colored 100% cotton yarn (such as Sugar and Cream or Peaches and Cream). Avoid spending a lot on supplies.

Come prepared to flex your creative muscles, experiment with new materials and ideas, and discover fresh sources of inspiration in a welcoming, low-pressure environment designed for all experience levels. NOTE: This program is free andtakes place at the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art from October 13 through November 17.
