This class is for students who feel comfortable with Spanish pronunciation, basic vocabulary, and using the present tense in the Spanish language. We will build up our vocabulary and learn additional grammar including how to talk about things that happened in the past. Please purchase the book Spanish Easy and Fun (c. 2023) before the first class. We will cover units 11-22 in this course. The instructor will be unavailable the week of March 10-14. If a substitute teacher cannot be found, the class will be rescheduled at a time and place that will be chosen by the class.

This beginning Spanish class is for those with little or no prior experience in Spanish. The emphasis will be on learning common vocabulary, pronunciation, basic grammar (the present tense) and getting comfortable sharing simple conversations. Please purchase the book Spanish Easy & Fun, copyright 2023, before the first class. This class will cover Level 1, units 1-10. The instructor will be off the week of March 10-14. If a substitute teacher cannot be found, the class will decide on the time and location of a make-up class.

This course is intended to be a review and extension of grammar and vocabulary learned in the Beginner and Advanced Beginner levels. Students will be able to converse using simple sentences using the present, past and future tenses in Spanish by the end of the course, with an emphasis on conversation. Course materials will include handouts provided by the instructor (cost: $5 per student)
