In the workshop, students will learn about the many elements that differentiate music theater from plays and operas. During the course of the workshop, students will explore sound with movement, improve their pronunciation, further develop their vocal quality, and learn about character development. By the end of the workshop, students will have learned one to two pieces of their choosing that they will be able to perform in any place, at any time. The final class will be a recital that is open to the public.

Bring a needlework project (if you have one in the works) and gather in as we weave through a sartorial history that takes us from the paleolithic string skirt to the string bikinis of St. Tropez. We’ll look at who makes our clothing and explore how the clothes we wore down through the ages have fitted us for work and play, for heaven and hell. We’ll leaf through the catalog of threads that occasioned scandal, fomented revolution, unraveled empires, and made gala-goers gaga for Gucci. Food, fabric, fun and fashion.

Paint a new picture each week while learning watercolor techniques in a supportive online environment. Before class, you’ll receive a sketch, reference photo, and supply list. During class, we’ll practice techniques and create finished paintings ranging from loose to realistic styles. Students are encouraged to personalize their work through color and artistic choices. Sessions are recorded so you can catch up if you miss a class.

This five-session course will focus on significant buildings on the University of Notre Dame campus. Among these are the Basilica; the Main Building (aka the Golden Dome); the Log Chapel and Grotto; the Libraries; the stadium and other athletic facilities; and public venues such as the art museum and sculpture park. Each class will be an illustrated lecture, and no prior knowledge is needed.

No partner or prior experience is required. Ballroom dancing provides excellent exercise, opportunities to meet new people, and a skill you can enjoy for years to come.

Learn the basic folds and foundational forms used to create a wide variety of origami designs. This hands-on course will help students develop the skills needed to follow origami instructions found in books and online. Paper types and supplies will be discussed during the first class.
