Explore modern and contemporary plays through reading, discussion, and performance. Participants will examine playwrights, historical context, and dramatic themes while viewing selected performance clips. Students will read plays in advance, assume character roles during class, and share critiques and insights. The course culminates in a readers’ theater presentation, with a possible field trip to a local production. $2 copy fee included in class cost.

We will use cotton rope/clothesline to sew a beautiful and useful bowl using the zig-zag stitch on a sewing machine. You just need to know basic sewing techniques for this course, and if possible, bring a working sewing machine with you. If you cannot bring a machine, I will have two extra machines for people to share. If time allows, we will learn techniques like adding fabric to a bowl. The course cost includes all materials needed (cotton rope, thread, needle and basic instructions). The session will meet on Friday, September 18 for 3 hours. 

Return to your watercolor practice and enjoy creating with fellow artists. Projects include tropical leaves, palm trees, bamboo, roses, black-and-white studies, quick paintings, desserts, landscapes featuring the sun or moon, abstract art, and a final composite project. Prerequisite: Beginning Watercolor. $3.00 copy fee included in class cost.
